We enjoyed a nice italian meal here, the restaurant is small and cosy. Cocktail and wine, the negroni was well balanced. We shared the antipasto platter, it was generous and everything was good to get in the mood for more. The cavatelli barese were flavourful The stinco agnello was falling from the bone, a delight ! A tiramisu with load of mascarpone It was a very good meal, the pasta are delicious and affordable. I recommend the the place !
Excellent food! The owner is very attentive. The food was very authentic. They sat us even when they did not have reservations available which is impossible in Montreal. So we really appreciate it that. The pasta was a little bit too much flavorful but overall I rather more flavor than tasteless. You can tell is a very Italian place!
There is no words!! So fresh and delicious perfect high quality cuisine with an amazing super friendly service. We do not recommend this restaurant we beg you to try it !! My rating is really a 4.8, only because there was no tiramisu left by the time we got to dessert!! But this resto deserves the higher end "rounding-up". We dined as a group of 6, ordered 3 appy's for the table, and everyone ordered their own entree, of which each of us proceeded to taste all the dishes. Whew!! We are fussy "foodies" and can say all the dishes were excellent, well executed, flavourful, generous servings, and pleasantly presented. Service was also excellent. The proprietors were extremely welcoming and humble, and subtly attuned to their customers. Go there!! Grazie a Osteria Gallo!! Bravo!

So delicious !! Already can't wait to return !! We were a group for my boyfriend's birthday and service was impeccable, they were so attentive. Appetizers were good, osso bucco was good, wine was good, desserts were phenomenal (cannoli, lemon, tiramisu) - overall such a great time that we returned 1 week later with the family ! Tortellini gigi was to die for - so authentic. Thanks again :)
Six of us had a very pleasant meal in this small restaurant. Dishes were prepared meticulously. Service was friendly and up beat. Frankly every dish was great. Truly the sort of meal one hopes for when visiting Montreal. The kitchen is small and restaurant was pretty full, so dishes did not come out terribly quickly. Well within reasonable though.. Go with someone whose company you enjoy ;). Pasta portions were very generous, so if you have a pile of starters, you might want to share the dinner course. This place is a keeper.
Amazing Italian restaurant in Villeray! Came to this restaurant by chance and I’m glad I found this gem. The food was delicious, plenty to choose from their menu, prices were fair. We ordered so much and we left extremely full and satisfied. They have a great selection of Italian wine and cocktails. The lamb risotto was my favourite meal. Service was very friendly and informative. Their decor was beautiful and the restaurant was extremely clean. I can’t wait to come back!
